A/N: @nyktoon-ikemenlove has somewhat recently posted stuff about poly shippings, and honestly??? That’s my jam. My bread and butter. My pepper to my salt? Bad analogies, but you get the point. This fic was heavily inspired by shadowfairyy’s OT3 art. Enjoy this short piece of fluff.

Mitsuhide looked like the kind to not get sappy. With his jet black reputation, predisposition to cut off anyone who tried to get close to him, and just his general alarming personality, no one would blame you for thinking so.
(To be honest, he would probably be the one to encourage you to think such things.)
But reality is always stranger than people’s impressions, and the reality of this situation? Well…
Every morning, without fail, he would wake up before any sane person would. He could tell that the Sun had still to rise to it’s full glory, but the light it provided was enough. In fact, the lazy light was perfect for his purposes. The right balance between shadows and light highlighted his lovers’ faces that could trick anyone to think they were glowing (and Mitsuhide was definitely of the opinion they were glowing despite knowing better).
He adjusted their positions a bit, drawing Hideyoshi closer to his side and the Princess in a more comfortable position on his chest, careful not to break the soft hold the two had on each other’s hands. The two always managed to get a hold of each other like this every time, always over his heart. The idea of the two holding his heart never failed to make him smile.
With the kind of gentleness that almost anyone else would see as uncharacteristic, he combed out the tangles in the Princess’ bedhead, all while drawing idle patterns on Hideyoshi’s back. The Princess would be raving to the other seamstresses later today about how her hair never tangled in her sleep anymore.
With great reluctance, he finished smoothing out her hair, arranging it neatly as she slept on.
He reached out past her a little to retrieve the book he left the night before, careful not to disturb either sleeper as he searched for where he left off. He ceased drawing on Hideyoshi’s back as he did so, pulling him a little bit closer; to the point where he could now feel the tips of Hideyoshi’s hair tickling his ear.
As the light gradually poured increased, his rationality started to stir along with it, telling him he shouldn’t linger any longer. But as always, he silenced the thought. It was easy to ignore such naggings when his two little Suns were snuggled against him, relaxed and free from worries.
He turned a page, and continued to wait for his Sun to signal the start of his day.
